Serving Those Who Serve: Helping a Fellow Marine Find Home Near MCAS Cherry Point

As a Marine Corps veteran and now a real estate agent, some of the most meaningful moments in my career come from helping those I once served alongside. Recently, I had the privilege of helping my friend Erik — a fellow Marine I met while stationed at Camp Lejeune — buy a home here in New Bern, NC.

From Camp Lejeune to Cherry Point

Erik and I first met in 2019 while serving with CLB-26 aboard Camp Lejeune. We deployed together on the 26th MEU, and like many Marines who spend months aboard ship, that time created a bond that lasts far beyond active duty.

Now stationed at MCAS Cherry Point, Erik reached out to me when he was ready to purchase a home nearby. Helping a friend and fellow Marine find his home — and doing it sight unseen — was a full-circle moment I won’t forget.

Erik needed a home that was close to base, within budget, and offered a smooth transition for his military lifestyle. New Bern checked all the boxes.
